Mitsuo
USAMI
Biography: Mitsuo Usami received the B.S. degree in electronics engineering of the Tokyo
Institute of
Technology in 1971. He joined the computer and semiconductor division
of Hitachi
in 1971 and
engaged in development of bipolar high-speed logic LSIs for the large
scaled
mainframe computers for 16 years. He invented magnetic-card-like ultra thin IC cards in
1993 at the
Central Research Laboratory of Hitachi. His recent works are oriented for many application
devices using thinned
silicon chips such as ultra-small RFIDs. He received the Ph.D degree
from Kyushu
University
in 1992.
